PEOPLE must guard against political invasions by people proclaiming the demise of historic 22 December 1987 Unity Accord because the agreement cannot be undone, a senior Zanu-PF official has said.
Addressing villagers in Plumtree where he donated more than tone of maize, Zanu PF national chairman who is also Zimbabwe's former Ambassador to South Africa said the Unity Accord was there to stay and no-one can erase the signatures of those that singed it.
He also added that those that want to the contentious agreement must resurrect the late vice President Joshua Nkomo.
In a veiled attack to Dr Dumiso Dabengwa's Zapu, Moyo said those who they can undo the agreement are "misguided missiles."
Dr Dabengwa's Zapu is made up of former Zanu-PF members who have accused the revolutionary party of betraying the latter and spirit of the agreement and have said they cannot be part of it, arguing that it is no longer there.
"It is unachievable for anyone to erase the signature of the late vice President Joshua Nkomo and that of President Robert Mugabe. In fact it is mischief for anyone to think about doing that.
"There are some who are saying the Unity Accord is no longer in force. That is not true. Those people should resurrect the late Father Zimbabwe and bring Mugabe to erase their signatures without which the unity will remain in place," he said.
The Unity Accord was signed as a peace treaty after President Mugabe unleashed tribal cleansing; a reign of terror from 1981 to late 1986, which resulted in more than 30 000 deaths.
