Two women who were convicted for cheating during the Zimsec mathematics examinations of June this year have been sentenced to 140 hours of community service.
Jentah Chikudza, 33, and Tsitsi Plaxedes Saungweme , 26, were convicted on the own plea of guilty when they appeared before Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti.
The magistrate sentenced them to six months and suspended two months on condition of good behaviour. The remaining four were suspended for 140 hours of community service.
On June 7 the Saungweme got into the examination room at Great Stride College in Glen Norah where she was seen having two answer sheets with another having the answers. Investigations showed that she had since sat for the examination in 2015 and passed.
It was also discovered that Chikudza was the one who was supposed to sit for the examination and had paid Saungweme to write for her.
