There was mayhem last week during the early hours of Tuesday at house No. 10647 in Budiriro 4 when a violent rat that had the guts to fight against humans was found at this house. This ran was much bigger than all other rats, and even some cats were much smaller in size. Eye witnesses claim that its weight was probably close to 10 Kg.

Mr Augustine Ugalo, one of the eye witnesses, says the rat was spotted moving aimlessly around the house, revealing that it had been lost. He went on to say the rat eventually moved close to one of the doors attempting to gain entrance but for unknown reasons could not enter and people got stones so they could kill it.

Mr Ugalo called for help from other people and they began to hit the rat with stones and bricks as well as any other object that could be used to bring the life of this queer rat to an end. Upon smelling danger, the rat attacked one of the people and as people ran for their lives thats when Mr Ugalo got injured.

"This huge rat was drifting about the corridor then stopped in front of that door. Inside that room lives a lady who is a foreign currency dealer and a cross boarder trader. As it was still there, that is when we gathered stones and bricks so that we could attack and kill it. To show that it was a very strange rat, it never ran away, instead it jumped in anger and intended to harm us," explained Mr Ugalo who got injured as he was trying to run for his life when the ran jumped to attack them.

As people heard the scuffle and noise that was coming from this house, then came to help destroy this monster, which took them a good half an hour to kill the ran. What got everyone shocked was the size of this rat, that was white in colour with some charcoal furs.

"We went for more than 30 minutes trying to kill this odd creature, and the rat was crying like a human baby. In my life i have never seen such an enormous rat. It had a unique and different manner that was so different from other rats. It was not even scared of human beings," said Mr Ugalo.

Mrs Mildred Chidziva, who resides close to this house said what further got her shocked was the fact that this rat, after being killed did not bleed, or develop any scars even though it was attacked which stones and bricks, and four days after the rat had been killed it had not begun smelling. She further said people are beginning to think they killed someone's goblin.

Though reporters could not confirm it, some onlookers claim that when the rat was killed it passed out old ZW$200,000 bearer cheques, and some of these old notes were still at the spot where still at the spot where the rat was killed.

Mrs Chidziva said most people who reside in this hood were certain that this creature was used to earn money through evil ways. This opinion was seconded by Mr Jabulani Gama who is based in Lilongwe and had visited his relatives.

"This is the work of the evil. Its not an ordinary rat. Its this big because its owner was feeding it with something. We should have eventually seen it maybe because its master forgot to feed it," suggested Gogo Mufakose, who is over 70 years of age.
