Congregants at an apostolic sect in Mabelreign witnessed what they believe is a miracle when a two-metre long cobra snake was pulled out of a local businessman's car boot.
A Johanne Masowe Apostolic church leader, madzibaba Takudzwa Mwapeta, pulled the reptile from the pirate taxi owned by Charles Marere at his church along Quendon road and the whole act was recorded on video. Madzibaba Takudzwa was calm as retold last Sunday's incident.
"Charles and his brother came to us seeking assistance since he had been experiencing problems in his taxi business, complaining the vehicles were constantly breaking down among other things. After praying for him, ndakaona kuti akapihwa mushonga nen'anga kunzvimbo inonzi Mukombera but refused saying he had never been to the place," said madzibaba with a grin.
"After sometime, Charles confessed he visited the sangoma with his friend in order to make money, but refused having received anything."
" I told him that he hailed from Mutoko district and that even his father had used charms to enhance his business. I received a prophecy that his brother had lost a child and that Charles himself had lost twin children recently.
"He confirmed the prophecy but he still refused having charms. Ndakamuudza kuti ndakaunamata kuti nyoka yacho ibude pano, ndipo paakabvuma kuti ane zvaakapihwa. We told him that we were going to pray around his car and he agreed, after the prayer session he opened his car boot and we saw the snake. Nyoka yacho yaive nyamafingu asi kaive kadiki, pasina nguva refu yakatsakatika".
"We then prayed again and the snake reappeared this time much larger, almost two metres long.the snake threatened to attack us, but we quickly weakened it with our walking sticks".
Neither Charles Marere nor his brother could be reached for comment after a week of trying.
