The Zanu PF Member of Parliament for Chiredzi South Rtd Brigadier Kallisto Gwanetsa cheated death by a whisker last Tuesday when his vehicle was involved in an accident on his way from Gweru to Chiredzi.

Gwanetsa confirmed the accident and said it happened 35km before Triangle when his vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle after he had slowed down to avoid stray cattle.

He said he was travelling from Gweru where he is a student at Midlands State University and his Ford Ranger was extensively damaged.

"I was coming from school at around 7pm and after overtaking a vehicle about 35km before Triangle I came across a herd of cattle in the road and I put on the hazards and the guy who was following behind me was speeding so he hit me.

"The vehicle rolled several times and luckily I was putting on belts which saved me and I sustained minor injuries. The car was extensively damaged and it will be difficult to repair it," said Gwanetsa.

Gwanetsa survived another accident in Harare last year after a vehicle hit his side at an intersection. The driver of the vehicle which hit him vanished from the scene and was never seen up-to today.
