A political analyst Vince Musewe has said the Zimbabwean politics has stooped so low to be concerned about brands and personalities without focus on policies which may bring progress to the nation.
"Many a time I have expressed my dismay at the skills level and competencies of those whom we elect to govern us both at local and national level . Our politics is such that we vote for brands and personalities at leadership level and we forget about delivery," he said.
"This is turning out to be the case as we move to 2018 elections. At leadership level we look at the past and at local govt level we look at the political brand. The disaster at Harare City Council is costing us much because of sheer lack of requisite skills of councillors."
Musewe said at national level loyalty to the party leader plays a big role in critical appointments of ministers and state enterprises.
"As long as we do not address these issues we will continue being governed by the unskilled popular loyal incompetent. We have work to do," he said.
