A farm worker in Fort Rixon, Matabeleland South has been slapped with a 40 year jail term for raping four children.
The girls are aged between 10 and 13 years and one of them contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
Maxwell Mbiba aged 38 pleaded not guilty to the rape charges but magistrate Fadzai Mthombeni jailed him.
Mthombeni said Mbiba who is employed at Phuzela Farm "took pleasure in abusing the children".
"You abused the trust that each of the children had in you as they regarded you as a relative. When coming to tour place of residency, they were coming for wild fruits (umtshwankela) but you gave them the opposite and abused them," said Mthombeni.
The court heard that between June and July last year, after abusing the children separately he would threaten them with death if they told anyone.
But one of his victims alerted her teacher about the abuse leading to his arrest.
