The Grace Mugabe frenzy is set to hit Gwanda by storm soon if proposals by sections of the ZANU PF women's league in the area are anything to go by.
Information leaked to Bulawayo24 by reliable sources within the league are that the women will soon be tabling a motion to the party authorities to instruct the renaming of Jahunda Primary School to Grace Mugabe Primary School.
Jahunda Primary School is one of the oldest Schools in the town and named after the town's high density surburb of Jahunda where it is located. The township gets its name from a mountain in the town.
The proposal to rename the school in the First Lady's name comes hot on the heels of another proposal by Council to name the town's main street in the name of President Robert Mugabe and grant the first family freedom of the town.
Dr Grace Mugabe is making headlines in recent days snatching every opportunity coming her way as she makes her way to the helm of the ruling party's Women League in December.
Residents of Gwanda have over the years been making calls to council to consider naming some landmark features in the town in honour of some heroes and leaders of the town.
