Shame on you Harry Thomson

US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Harry Thomson (Jnr ) made headlines for the wrong reason when he openly supported the rogue pastor Evan Mawarire who is charged for trying to remove a constitutionally elected government through subversive actions of inciting the public .
It is said that US Embassy said that it was extremely concerned by the continuing deterioration of the human rights situation in Zimbabwe, the unwarranted arrest and continued detention of Evan Mawarire. He went on to say.
"We fear these recent actions will further limit the right of very Zimbabwean to exercise their Constitutionally-protected freedoms of expression and peaceful assembly, which are similarly protected under Zimbabweans international human rights obligations and core values of any functioning democracy."
US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Harry Thomson should know that by supporting Mawarire he is interfering in Zimbabwe's affairs and is in violations of Article 41 paragraph 1 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations which state, ‘Without Prejudice to the privilege and immunities, it is the duty of all persons enjoying such privileges and immunities to respect the laws and regulations of the receiving state. They also have a duty not to interfere in the internal affairs of the state."
He should also know that by publicly declaring his support for the civil disturbances, he is trading on dangerous grounds because any government even in his own country, America takes nation security interest matters seriously and would not tolerate a foreigners speaking or engaging in activities that supports machinations to create public disorder.
Zimbabwe's Secretary for Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Mr George Charambas' response to this statement that US embassy should not meddle and interfere in our sovereignty is dead-on. It's not that Zimbabwe has nothing to say to US issues it's only that we respect their territory and they must learn to respect ours. Mr Charamba is right when he says that each moment they want to effect regime change agenda they issue statements of human right abuse .For once US should STOP IT.
Disrespectful of our government, confrontational and undiplomatic in his actions and languages sums up Mr Harry Thomson' character. Broadly his behaviour violates the diplomatic privileges and immunities that a person in his personal capacity should enjoy.
It's high time that America ambassador should mind his business and understand that Zimbabwe is for Zimbabwe and will never be shoved around by the West.
