There is NO constitutional crisis in Zimbabwe!

There is no constitution in the country! This statement shall remain an innocent statement until proven otherwise, actually it's a statement of fact. If we had any such a document, then we would have at least one incident of the rule of law in the country to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the constitution is found somewhere in the shelves of some public offices, and in people's pockets as well as in their minds.

This is not sarcasm, hence the dilemma we have at the moment where we can't even tell without doubt whether the current military intervention in the current political crisis is a coup. Actually, such a word as "coup" couldn't exist in isolation, hence we can't even precisely define the word or make sense of it because that would be an easy thing to do if we had a constitution.

Substantiated rumour even has it that General Chiwenga was asked to produce a constitution by embattled President Mugabe to justify the "military operations" including his house arrest in the recent meeting, and the General couldn't do so simply because there is none such document. The document you might have read as a constitution of Zimbabwe speaks of a country which is merely a figment of your imagination.

Actually, such an ideal country has only existed on paper being far from what we had come to know. We can't trace existence of such a country yet on any part of this earth. So, when there has been demands for rule of law it only meant two things being involved. It's either such people lived on a different planet than the rest of the population, or they had not realised public officials in positions of authority were completely divorced from reality.

Never mind that some people are trying to surprise everyone now and convince us the document which has gathered so much dust in shelves especially at State House is actually a constitution of the country. They have always remembered about such a "useless" document when it suits them best. I believe their own copies they have in possession are actually handwritten on notepads.

I can tell you right now that anyone who has used the phrases "constitutional crisis", "legitimate president", "constitutionally order", and so forth has been extremely reckless in their utterances in their apparent show of solidarity with Mr Robert Mugabe. In actual fact, such an individual needs to have their head examined by a competent psychiatrist.

Let me repeat myself, there is no constitution in the country! So, we can't have a constitutional crisis in any manner without the very constitution in place as a representation of collective ideals of all people. The military operations are indeed not a coup because we are so used to unwritten rules only.

That is why even at a roadblock you could be made to pay a hefty fine as some "Roadblock Managers" would have told you that in the country only pink tyres are allowed on the roads, or car reflectors should be painted even on the roof of the car!
