ZIM-ID deeply saddened by Stadium disaster after a Church crusade!

On behalf of the entire party's leadership, supporters and indeed his own behalf, the President of the Zimbabwe's Independent Democrats (or ZIM-ID) Ldr. Gift Eglone, would like to extend the heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, fellow congregants and the whole nation following the untimely death of the confirmed 11 stadium victims in the small town of Kwekwe in Zimbabwe on Thursday evening of the 20th November 2014!
ZIM-ID considers this extremely saddening moment a national disaster that was unnecessary and could have been completely avoided to say the least. This form of pain is indeed too much to bear for the Africans in general as we are still a continent in mourning and trying to find closure to a related incident that happened in Nigeria where four (4) Zimbabwean souls were again lost about two (2) months ago. Whatever the circumstances surrounding this sad incident, this still deserved a national day of mourning to be declared at the national government level.
Although investigations are reportedly ongoing, which is a natural response to such disasters, we strongly believe and would welcome an independent commission of enquiry to be established as soon as possible. We believe such a commission of enquiry may indeed quickly find the genuine answers to all the critical questions we are obviously all asking ourselves, and moreso those asked by the bereaved families themselves as this might turn out to be another use of excessive force by the police if not a premeditated massacre given the speculation that is dominant at the moment.
We recognise a significant need to thank the Lord that allowed the people of Zimbabwe to be predominantly such a deeply spiritual nation who trust in the Lord so much to remember at regular times to bring their various problems and different challenges to be cast upon Him. However, we still express strong reservations on the seemingly ungodly actions of some certain supposedly man of God who keep manipulating genuine hopes or deceiving the hearts of our citizens, and in specific instances even in pursuit of sponsored ulterior motives.
Further, we would like to acknowledge that some of the challenges that our people have taken as a curse in their lives can actually be resolved by a competent government of the people if only key priorities are not misplaced. A simple observation of these now famous pilgrimage patterns by Christian movements does even suggest that our people are in search of lasting solutions to their everyday practical challenges including travelling to distant shores where they hope to get much needed help. We trust the people of our beloved nation simply deserve a new hope that can inspire fresh solutions to some of the practical challenges, and we are ready to stand in that gap as ZIM-ID!
Our prayers are also with those who sustained serious and life threatening injuries as well as broken bones. We understand very well that even the necessary medication for prescription and basic primary health care is not available in our hospitals to enable a proper healing that may quicken the expected recuperating processes, not to mention the unresolved doctor's strike and lack of other skilled health workers. Such a lack of critical services or skills at a time such as this can't be blamed on God or solely the devil, but definitely largely apportioned on the incumbent government which we as a people need to change.
Also, we take note that some of our deceased victims may not get deserved dignified sending off funerals, which then now activates the collective effort of all of us as a people with a selfless intervention culture. May the departed souls rest in peace until that glorious day of the Lord! May God bless our nation and its people!
This heartfelt condolence message has been released by the Zimbabwe's Independent Democrats through the Sovereign Central Committee in close oversight role to our administrative portfolio for Nation Trauma, Reparations and Social Therapy. We can be contacted on zim.id263@gmail.com .
