Georgias' appeal to EU court ruling plausible

Trinity Engineering chairman and founder Senator Aguy Georgas' appeal to the European Union court's verdict rejecting his claim for damages from the EU Council arising from sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe should be commended by all progressive and patriotic citizens.
Sanctions were imposed on Zimbabwe after the government undertook the land reform, in an effort to address a grave land imbalance. This led Britain to internationalize a bilateral conflict between former colony and former master. In a sense of solidarity, the rest of the world blindly supported Britain. In the contemporary world, sanctions are still used as a foreign policy tool by many governments to terrorize some sovereign states.
Georgias' case was heard by the General Court sitting in Luxembourg earlier this year (2014) after he filed a claim for damages suffered as a result of his listing on the EU travel ban list. He was included on the travel ban list following his appointment as Deputy Minister for Economic Development by President Robert Mugabe. The EU had painted Zimbabwe Government leaders with the same brush and judged Senator Georgias guilty by merely being a member of the government. This is not acceptable by competent and progressive Zimbabweans.
This travel ban on Georgias does not apply and is senseless in that the man do not pose any security threat. It is a fact that by far, regime change is the most frequent foreign policy objective of economic sanctions. Sanctions cause more harm than good. This does not reflect concern for the welfare and well being of the general population of Zimbabwe. Far from the claim that sanctions were ring-fenced and targeted for few individuals, sanctions are being felt throughout the entire economy.
Sanctions against Zimbabwe and indeed, any other country is a declaration of war on a sovereign state, which puts the country under siege, with negative down-stream effects on the vulnerable groups and civilians at large. In this regard sanctions remain one of the instruments the west is employing to effect regime change in target countries. Woe to Westerners who support sanctions on Zimbabwe for they are like whitewashed tombs which are full of extortions and rapacity.
