Confessions of a mercenary: Jabulani Sibanda

02 Apr 2015 at 10:38hrs | Views
Jabulani Sibanda, the man behind the 'one million man march', is now singing from a different hymn book after a vehement countrywide campaign denouncing illegal economic sanctions against Zimbabwe.

The change in tone leaves Sibanda more of a mercenary than a revolutionary, hence, putting into disrepute his war credentials. The man is ironically on the record of landing the top post in the Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association by mere lucky, having been at the periphery of the liberation struggle.

Indeed one can never pretend for ever as true colours have their own way of showing. Sibanda is now damning the bridge he crossed, possibly by way of deception.

Was the man singing for his supper or he is just one of those thick headed lads feasting on any opportunity to grab power? When all pieces are put together the indecorous behaviour and blatant forcefulness of the ex war veterans' boss adds up to a show and cover his treacherous character.

Jabulani Sibanda has been in Zanu-PF for long and sailed with the party's ideology but never echoed any query; now that he was chucked out and disgruntled, he starts bursting out madness.

Why talk now when you are out of the system Cde Sibanda? If you are truly a revolutionary why was your voice silent to these allegations you are braying about?

Vengeance has a way of bouncing back that most people overlook when they are pregnant with emotions. Being ignorant of the fact that he was part of Zanu-PF leadership costs him audience as it is obvious that grapes have suddenly turned sour for Sibanda.

Like those who took the same path, Sibanda has crossed the floor by shedding crocodile tears for Morgan Tsvangirai, thereby hammering the final nail on his political coffin.

The coming out of Sibanda from his cocoon fulfils the speculations that their cabal, led by Joice Mujuru, has close links with MDC-T. The ex war veterans leader exonerated Tsvangirai from the woes that have dogged Zimbabweans.

In a typical final push style by the MDC formations, Sibanda once urged war veterans to storm the State House.

As such realities creep in; it is no secret the Mujuru cabal harboured subversive and assassination machinations, hence, deserving whatever followed after their plot was exposed.

This defines Sibanda as a pathological liar, who can say and do anything to stay afloat in the political arena. In a desperate attempt to appeal for sympathy, Sibanda does a shoddy job by questioning government accountability.

Zanu-PF exorcism was on the grounds of incompetence and behaviour incommensurate with expected duties and responsibilities. To then have a victim lamenting over the country being on auto pilot is thus misdirected and buffoonery.

Sibanda, on the other hand, was in charge of the Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association which he literary ran from his pocket until it almost crumbled. He looted from the association and ex fighters have nothing to show from Sibanda.

If you could not live up to the expectations of the party and the electorate, please rest in peace and at least desist from confusing the situation. The lurching of the disposed cadres from their cocoons is uniform given their consistent pattern in ill governance mantra. Someone must have adopted these prodigal sons.

For the zestful, Themba Mliswa, it is no secret that the CIA spy, Mr Eric Ryan Little, has taken full custody of the lad as they prepare for the by-elections. It is only a matter of time before the handlers of former Minister of State for Masvingo Province, Kudakwashe Basikiti and Sibanda are confirmed. However, it is clear that the Mujuru cabal is now firmly in the hands of the West.

It is sad Jabulani Sibanda has again dived into political oblivion. Many individuals thought they were greater than the revolutionary party and have gone down the memory drain.
