The Bulawayo Provincial Executive.
Dated 05/04/2019
Ref: Handing over the baton to new blood in Bulawayo Province.
Att.The chairperson.
I write this article full of happiness and pride that since 2005 until to date I have been either deputy or substantive Secretary for Information and Publicity of our revolutionary movement in Bulawayo. After serious consideration, I have resolved not to stand for any provincial party post in the forthcoming Congress this year.
I honestly believe that in all these years I have performed to the best of my ability as the party spokesperson for Bulawayo province.
As you know through my last communiqué to you I'm vying for a national post. If nominated I would be contesting to satisfy the democratic processes as espoused by our constitution. Whether I'm nominated or not I will remain a bona fide member of the party and a servant of the people.
After the Congress, I Will dedicate my time and energy in marketing the elected President for both the Congress and 2023 national plebiscite. My only motivation is to see a victorious MDC come 2023.
Technically, I'm still holding on to my provincial party post until the dissolution of the current executive.
This article is intended to assist you the esteemed provincial assembly to find a suitable replacement for me in the provincial structures. It is therefore prudent for me to salute all of you whom I have worked closely with in my challenging role as the party spokesperson. I defended the party principles and its leadership without fear and favour.
Last but not least, I would like to thank and acknowledge the media fraternity both national and international. Particularly I would like to mention Daily News, NewsDay, Zoom News, ZimEye and Bulawayo24 on the local front. On the international front I would like to appreciate Studio 7,BBC , CNN and Sky News for articulating our cause as MDC frankly and honestly without bias. These media houses have helped us as a movement to articulate our views and enabled us to expose counter-revolutionary gangsters masquerading as political formations or parties. They also helped us to articulate our views to the outside world.
I remain grateful and humbled by the support you rendered to me during my tenure as the party's spokesperson for Bulawayo province.
Yours sincerely
