Dear Hon Lungisani Nleya (Bulilima West MP)
The constituency you represent is appalled by the remarks made by the leader of your political party who is also the president of the country; Robert Mugabe at the end of SADC summit in Harare. "Khalangas are criminals and uneducated". The constituency awaits patiently for you to explain these remarks, the constituency will appreciate if you can explain the remarks at the earliest time. The constituency is unsettled by your silence regarding this matter. Reminder Hon MP, during gukurawudi, the media then, (chronicle, Herald etc) deliberately, decided not to inform people and the world about the killings before, during and after. Your silence can be interpreted as an approval of these words.
Bulilima West constituency shares border with Botswana and share boundaries with Tsholotsho and Bulilima East, Plumtree.
We hope that you are different from the leaders like Cain Mathema and Angelina Masuku, who came to the region with supercilious remarks that suggest that people are lazy and that there is no marginalisation. We also trust that you are totally different from the representatives such as Obedingwa Mguni, Mathias Ndlovu,Simon Khaya Moyo and others who share President Robert Mugabe's opinions regarding the people of Midlands, and Matabeleland; particularly the Khalanga tribe.
We met on several occasions during 2013 election campaign. Despite the fact that one could not understand what your party stood for, apart from hatred , we assumed you had assured people that you will listen to them, work with them ,and address issues affecting the constituency to create a stronger impact on the nation. Now people are under threat, they fear Gukurawundi 3, we say gukurawudi 3 because 2 has been taking place in form of marginalisation, discrimination, nepotism, and tribalism. If in doubt, we refer you to the remarks made by the president.
We would like to draw your attention to a matter that raised the eyebrows of many who heard of it, the media not chronicle or herald of cause, regarding one of the leading mobile companies, Econet. Some time in May 2012 when they were promoting Echo cash services in Plumtree, only one member of the team could speak Ndebele and the rest were speaking Shona, therefore, it was assumed that Econet attracted only one person from Matabeleland and Midlands. When the Econet staff members were questioned, their response was "We advertised jobs for the marketing campaign but there were no people from Matabeleland and Midlands who were interested in the job. They were done in sometime in April and the interviews conducted in Harare". We all know that there were not telling the truth.
Mr Hon Lungisani Nleya, we are asking you to take responsibility for your actions. When you ran for the position you have been given we expected a strong moralistic leader, who does not resist the urge to execute what he believes is the right action. We looked for a leader to face injustice. We want you to take responsibility for the nation. When your leader calls members of his OWN nation "uneducated" he is only insulting himself as he proves that the government has been neglecting the issue of education.
Yours Sincerely
