Mobile network operator NetOne has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability through a clean‑up campaign held in Bulawayo, in line with the National Development Strategy 2 and Vision 2030.
The campaign, conducted on 5 June, brought together NetOne employees, students and various stakeholders in response to President Emmerson Mnangagwa's call for nationwide participation in monthly clean‑up activities.
Speaking at the event, NetOne regional manager Guguletho Mpofu said sustainable development involves more than infrastructure and connectivity, emphasising the need to preserve the environment that supports economic and social progress.

"Our message to our customers and the community is simple but powerful: national development begins with individual and institutional discipline," NetOne said.
The clean‑up exercise forms part of NetOne's strategic pillar on environmental sustainability, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting national programmes that promote resilient communities and a sustainable future.
"This initiative is our practical response to the call by President Mnangagwa for institutions and citizens alike to take collective responsibility for a clean, orderly and dignified nation," Mpofu said.
NetOne said its commitment to environmental sustainability is anchored in its broader corporate social responsibility agenda aimed at building a better future for Zimbabweans.
