Mnangagwa appoints Maridadi ambassador

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has picked former MDC legislator for Mabvuku-Tafara, James Maridadi for a role as an ambassador.
The former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation disc jockey, Maridadi's appearance at the diplomatic training course which commenced in Harare today, was testimony that President Mnangagwa's commitment towards inclusivity is not just mere talk.
Mnangagwa has already demonstrated that it is time for all Zimbabweans to unite and work together when he appointed non-politicians into his cabinet, before initiating a political parties' dialogue.
He has also appointed a team of advisors made of accomplished business people and technocrats, and in his latest appointment of Maridadi, the President has looked beyond politics.
Maridadi was today among 15 ambassador designates and 23 foreign affairs officials who started a month-long diplomatic training course, whose aim is to provide them with appropriate orientation before they set off on their new assignments.
Mnangagwa has been tolerant even before, allowing the late opposition member, Trudy Stevenson to continue serving the country as ambassador in Senegal way after the expiry of the Government of National Unity (GNU) under whose tenure she had been appointed.
Another former MDC MP Hilda Mufudze also continued to serve as the country's representative in Sudan beyond the tenure of the GNU.
