Tajamuka Spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has warned Vice President Constantino Chiwenga that the people of Zimbabwe will resist him if he tries to impose former Reserve Bank Governor Gideon Gono as President replacing President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mkwananzi's statements comes after reports emanating for the highly placed Central Intelligence sources in Harare reported that Chiwenga is allegedly pushing for Gono as a compromise candidate to replace Mnangagwa.
Said Mkwananzi, "While Gono or (anyone else for that matter) might be a better President than President Mnangagwa, Chiwenga must realise that this time around we will not allow the military to impose an imposter on us. We will go to a PROPER VOTE. Beaten once, twice shy."
Chiwenga became a darling of Zimbabweans after he led a military intervention that ended President Robert Mugabe's 37 years of iron rule.
He was credited for leading a delegation of the securocrats who approached Presidnet Mugabe and recquested him to step down to preserve peace in the country.
Chiwenga was a ring leader behind a faction of ZANU PF called the Lacoste faction.
Recently National Patriotic Front Spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire alleged that Mkwananzi was on a pay roll from the military together with #ThisFlag leader Evan Mawarire to mobilise a mass uprising against Mugabe.
Mkwananzi and Mawarire have refuted the allegations calling the NPF Spokesman a bogus person.
