6 injured as Bulawayo-bound bus overturns in Harare

A late-night journey to Bulawayo turned chaotic after a packed coach veered off the Harare-Bulawayo Road and toppled onto its side at Kuwadzana Turn-Off, commonly known as Pamagetsi, on November 6.
The bus, which was carrying 55 passengers, was heading to the City of Kings when disaster struck. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as luggage and passengers were thrown across the aisle amid screams for help.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, saying six passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment.
"The ZRP confirms a road traffic accident that occurred on 06/11/25 at Kuwadzana Turn-Off (Pamagetsi) along the Harare-Bulawayo Road. A bus carrying 55 passengers, heading to Bulawayo, veered off the road and fell on its left side. Six passengers were injured and transported to Parirenyatwa Hospital. Further details will follow in due course," said Commissioner Nyathi.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, although early indications suggest the driver may have lost control of the vehicle.
