Construction of a state-of-the-art Zanu-PF Manicaland provincial headquarters and conference centre, valued at more than US$1 million, is progressing rapidly, with key building materials already delivered on site.

The facility, set to become one of the party's flagship provincial structures, is expected to house modern multi-storey offices and a large-capacity conference centre capable of accommodating over 3 000 delegates. The development comes after President Emmerson Mnangagwa signalled approval of the project during last year's National People's Conference in Mutare, where he planted a commemorative tree at the construction site.

Zanu-PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Tawanda Mukodza, confirmed that cement, bricks and steel reinforcement had begun arriving on site, marking visible progress towards the long-awaited build.

"This project is President Mnangagwa's vision in action. We are grateful for his leadership and support, and for the contribution of his advisor on investment, Dr Paul Tungwarara, as well as Zanu-PF national chairman Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri," he said.

Mukodza said 3D architectural designs have been approved, contractors have been engaged and the Bill of Quantities finalised. He projected that noticeable structural work could begin before Christmas.

"We want to build state-of-the-art provincial offices with a conference centre that will host over 3 000 delegates. Manicaland will one day gather there as one. We assured the President that we would deliver — and now the project is becoming a reality," he said.

The project is being hailed within the party as a milestone in strengthening provincial presence, expanding administrative capacity and cementing Zanu-PF's organisational footprint in Manicaland.

Mukodza also applauded the Presidential Empowerment Fund, which last week disbursed more than US$650 000 to key party structures, alongside the allocation of double-cab vehicles to all eight District Coordinating Committee (DCC) chairpersons in the province.

He said each of Manicaland's 26 constituencies would receive US$26 000 for party programmes, including financing SMEs, administration and mobilisation efforts.

"This shows the President is empowering the grassroots directly through the party. This money will help constituencies develop and implement local projects," he said.

Mukodza thanked Dr Tungwarara for championing Manicaland as the first beneficiary province, adding that new vehicles and mobility for leadership would strengthen party operations.

"When they are mobile, Zanu-PF will never lose," he said.

Mukodza announced intensified mobilisation efforts from now until January 2026, including rallies and feedback meetings focused on resolutions of the National People's Conference.

These activities will centre on — among other resolutions — the proposal to extend President Mnangagwa's leadership beyond 2030, a matter now under consideration for parliamentary and governmental processing.

"With funds now available, we will reach all 432 party districts in Manicaland. There will be no Christmas break. Zanu-PF is working every day," he said.

If completed as envisioned, the new headquarters is expected to become one of the most prominent political facilities in the eastern region, redefining the party's administrative and mobilisation operations in Manicaland for years to come.
