Anymore Zvitsva (35), a former fugitive accused of terrorising Guruve between October and December 2025, has pleaded guilty to 10 counts, including rape, attempted murder and robbery.
He returns to court tomorrow for a pre‑sentence hearing.
Zvitsva is accused of a calculated pattern of violent attacks targeting vulnerable individuals, often using weapons and snare wire to subdue his victims. The victims include a 14‑year‑old girl and a 62‑year‑old woman.
In several incidents, he allegedly tied victims with wire or shoelaces and dragged them into mountains or bushy areas before committing the offences.
He is linked to five counts of attempted murder, where he allegedly stabbed victims in the neck, chest and abdomen with knives and spears, and strangled others with snare wire until they lost consciousness.
Zvitsva also allegedly broke into homes at night, sometimes wearing a balaclava, to attack sleeping families. In one robbery, he used a machete to strike a man before stealing a cigarette lighter, cigarettes and a soft drink.
His arrest on 3 January 2026 ended the reign of terror. He later led police to various crime scenes for indications, including the recovery of a victim’s red T‑shirt hidden under a log at an anthill.
Zvitsva is also awaiting indictment to the High Court for several murder charges committed in the Guruve area during the same period.
Authorities say the offences were committed with extreme cruelty and emphasised the justice system’s commitment to protecting the Guruve community.
