INTERIM Zimbabwe national football team coach Kaitano Tembo says he is generally satisfied with his side's performance despite a 2–0 defeat to Nigeria in the Unity Cup semi-final played at The Valley Stadium in London, England.
Tembo, however, conceded that the Warriors could have avoided conceding both goals had they shown greater defensive discipline during key moments of the match.
He also pointed to missed opportunities in attack as a major factor that cost Zimbabwe a chance of competing more strongly in the encounter.
Speaking after the match on Tuesday night, Tembo, who was flanked by ZIFA communications manager Michael Madoda, addressed the media and reflected on the team's overall display.
While acknowledging the defeat, he maintained that there were positive aspects in Zimbabwe's performance that could be built on ahead of future fixtures.
Zimbabwe will now await the outcome of the second semi-final between Jamaica and India, scheduled for Wednesday night, to determine their opponents in the bronze medal playoff.
The Warriors are expected to regroup quickly as they aim to salvage a podium finish in the Unity Cup tournament.
