SOUTH African songstress Zahara and her band jet in today ahead of their performance at this year's second edition of the Green Concert tomorrow at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare.
Goodwill Ambassador for the Water Conservation and Zero Littering Campaign Dereck Mpofu, who is the organiser of the event, told NewsDay the Loliwe singer would be welcomed at Harare International Airport by Minister of Environment, Water and Climate Saviour Kasukuwere, among other dignitaries.
"Zahara and her band will be touching down at Harare International Airport tomorrow (today) at midday aboard a South African Airways flight to plan ahead of her three shows in the capital, Bulawayo and a bush concert at Chingwizi Camp in Masvingo," Mpofu said.
"Although we are concerned with environmental issues, we, however, felt it was wise that we entertain the people with a charity show at the camp."
Before her performance, Zahara is expected to lead a clean-up campaign today at Avondale shops and tree planting together with Harare mayor Bernard Manyenyeni. Zahara will be joined on the stage by Willis Wataffi, among others.
The concert, which serves as an environmental awareness campaign through music, dance and song, will be held under the theme Remembering Tokwe-Mukorsi - One Environmental Family.
