ZANU-PF joins country's security agencies over Guruve serial killer manhunt

GURUVE - ZANU-PF has joined forces with security agencies to hunt down the Guruve serial killer, with the party's information directorate, Farai Muroyiwa-Marapira, confirming their involvement in the manhunt.
"We have made sure that the party structures should complement in making sure that the suspects who have been dusturbing peace amongst Guruve communities are apprehended sooner than later. Murder has no room in modern-day society," Muroyiwa-Marapira warned.
He announced that ZANU-PF has activated its structures from cell levels to support the efforts to catch the perpetrator.
Tendai Chirau, Deputy Secretary for Security in ZANU-PF's Politiburo, revealed that the party has implemented comprehensive security measures to apprehend the culprits, but declined to disclose the specifics, citing security reasons.
"Of course as a party, we have instituted all possible security measures to complement efforts in bringing the culprits to book, but we are not at liberty to disclose the degree or magnitude of specific security mechanisms which we have put in place to show you that they (culprits) have limited time or meals before imminent apprehension. But in short, they are on their last supper before apprehension or may not even have few steps away from apprehension," Chirau said.
The serial killer, Anymore Zvitsva (32), is accused of murdering 21 people, with recent attacks including the killing of five family members at Ona Mapeto Farm. Authorities have deployed drones, canine units, and tactical teams and are offering a reward for information leading to Zvitsva's arrest.
Meanwhile, police and other security service members further announced that they are still hunting down for Zvitsva who has so far killed people in separate incidents in the area since last month.
In a bid to accelerate the suspect's capture, police have announced a substantial monetary reward for information leading to Zvitsva's arrest.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were also hunting down for anyone assisting or harbouring the suspect.
"The substantial monetary reward is still standing and we are also looking for people or relatives who are assisting the suspect. They are liable for arrest," Nyathi said.
