MDC-T in restructuring exercise
31 May 2014 at 13:14hrs | Views
The MDC led by President Morgan Tsvangirai is now engaged in a serious restructuring exercise meant to strengthen it as a credible change agent.
All Zimbabweans realise that their hopes of a better day tomorrow are pinned on Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDC. While the Zanu-PF propaganda machinery last year ran with the populist theme of indigenisation it has dawned on all Zimbabweans that this indigenisation mantra was but a political fad.
Since Zanu-PF stole the elections Zimbabweans have become poorer and more miserable. The gap between the rich and the poor has continued to widen. Service delivery is appalling and unemployment continues to rise each day while capital flight from Zimbabwe to neighbouring countries continues unabated.
Corruption by state officials continues to rise unchecked while oppression by the state and the junta continues to burden the Zimbabwean people. The military junta has escalated its meddling in the political, social and economic life of Zimbabwe. Therefore there is need to intensify the democratic struggle whose objective is to eradicate all forms of oppression and to deliver the people of Zimbabwe from poverty and misery.
This is indeed a poor man's war. This revolution is a revolution of the downtrodden and oppressed. It is the revolution of the unemployed, the underprivileged and the future-less generation. However, like all well meaning revolutions, this revolution is being slowed down by the privileged people masquerading as democrats.
They speak a lot of English meant to confuse the masses yet they collaborate with the oppressor day in day out. Their collaboration with the enemy is shown by their incessant attacks on the genuine leaders of the revolution. One has to go back to the last three months to see whether these people have in any single day attacked the oppressor.
It will be seen that they have directed their energies on attacking and denigrating the person of Morgan Tsvangirai and the other genuine leaders of the democratic struggle. However in that endeavour they have underestimated the resolve of the Zimbabwean people.
We will intensify the struggle in spite of the odds staked against us because the Zimbabwean people have read through the evil machinations of these reactionary forces collaborating with the oppressors. We will win because our struggle is a just struggle. The Zimbabwean people and history are on our side.
Victory is certain.
