Zanu-PF dog eat dog fight spells demise of the party

The dog-eat-dog fighting in Zanu-PF could be the best thing that has happened in Zimbabwe in that it offers the nation an opportunity for a clean political start!

Mugabe chose to surround himself with some of the most incompetent individuals in Zanu-PF, people like Simon Muzenda and Mai Mujuru who have found it taxing to remember their left from right let alone anything else. And so for 34 years he has done as he pleased but and now he and the nation at large are paying dearly for it.

The biggest challenge facing Zimbabwe today is the serious economic meltdown caused by decades of mismanagement and corruption by the incompetent men and women Mugabe appointed to help him rule the country. Whilst Mugabe is smart enough to realise the seriousness of the economic meltdown and the threat it poses to his and the party's continued hold on political power the same cannot be said of those around him. Try explaining that to Mai Mujuru, Emmerson Mnangagwa and the rest of the Zanu-PF leaders - they do not have the foggiest idea what you are talking about.

Mugabe is trying to establish a Mugabe political dynasty by parachuting his wife into high position within the party (no doubt, a government position is soon to follow). Grace Mugabe's reckless spending, especially on Bona Nyapudzai's $ 5 million wedding, and failed past business activities shows she is just a greenhorn who has been promoted way above her level of competence.

Having been encouraged into believing they are leadership material by spending all these last decades in high office, the fact that they all presided over the fastest economic collapse in modern history has not yet occurred to them, these Zanu-PF simpleton have their eyes on nothing else but high office. If they were not simpleton then they would see that 34 years of Zanu-PF misrule have brought the nation to ruin making Zanu-PF unelectable. They would see that Zanu-PF is in terminal collapse, it is but a poisoned chalice not fighting for.

Of course the very fact that both Mai Mujuru and Mnangagwa have clearly failed to comprehend the seriousness of the economic meltdown shows they do not have a clue, even if they were to win power, as what to do to end the economic crisis. All this endless bickering within Zanu-PF over power whilst the national economy collapses will only make the populous angry and reinforce the view that neither of them are fit to rule the nation.

So the dark cloud created by Zanu-PF dog-eat-dog infighting has a silver lining (we must ensure that all the fighting is confined to party members and it is to the finish); it will hasten the complete demise of this Zanu-PF autocracy creating the opportunity for the nation to have a clean fresh start.

Mugabe and Zanu-PF are on having their final hours on the political stage; the future without them cannot be anything else but bright! "Kuipa kwechimwe kunaka kwechimwe!" as one would say in Shona (ukufa kweyinye yikuvuka kweyine).
