Chief calls for Kaukonde's farm to be given to chiefs - we must scrap all these undemocratic institutions

Chief Musarurwa (Enos Masakwa) says former Zanu PF provincial chairman Ray Kaukonde's farm should be "broken up" and parcelled out amongst the chiefs.
"We own the land and we should benefit from it. How are we expected to preside over the land when we do not even own a piece of it? Our plea to the government is to make sure that all traditional leaders are catered for," he said.
Musarurwa said as the custodians of the country's rural farmland, chiefs should be the biggest beneficiaries. As if they are not already!
Chiefs have been given cars, generous salaries and allowances by this Zanu PF government in return for their unquestioning loyalty to the party's ethos of retaining political power at all cost. The Chiefs have directly and indirectly assisted Zanu PF in its brutal repression of the ordinary people. What Chief Musarurwa is calling for is for the chiefs to have a share of the loot.
When this Zanu PF regime is finally removed, regime change is now as certain as the sun rising tomorrow; there is a crying need to redefine the role of the village heads and chiefs. The people have elected councillors, as long as the necessary democratic reforms have been implemented to ensure all elections are free, fair and credible there is no reason why the rural people should have to suffer another layer of unelected, corrupt as f**k and good for nothing busy-bodies.
