Zimbabwe is a land of possibilities, the unexpected - all in abundance in the tea-pot shaped landmass affectionately called Zimbabwe.
Not in a dream but in the closest reality. A reality neither unimagined nor ever dreamt of, Mugabe is slowly giving in to reality.
The continuous and spirited meet-the-people crusades by Zimbabwe's greatest political outfit fronted by the country's most popular politician have rattled feathers in the corridors of power.
According to minutes of a politburo meeting, Mugabe fumed at his entire team of political gangsters for their failure to relate with the masses. In a no holds debate, several Zanuists took no prisoners but clearly defended their tuff laying the blame right on the senile dictator's door step.
Exiled political activist Aleck Anderson was unfazed by the latest developments in the crumbling Zanu PF camp, "Mugabe is clearly on his way out of power. Even disGrace cannot save him this time."
As if bitterer by the involuntary expulsion from their motherland, Brighton Maravanyika and Emmanuel Banda, two radical and leading MDC T figures in South Africa clearly expressed their disdain for Africa's oldest dictator.
Grasping the little as Banda thunder, "Mugabe is an enemy of Zimbabwe and he deserves not the presidency as he has lost legitimacy than a decade ago. "
Maravanyika bemoaned the pathetic life Zimbabweans are experiencing in South Africa.
Reacting to the leaked confidential minutes of a politburo meeting, Douglas Chiganze a Cape town based businessman and politician was emotional, "I fully agree with Mugabe when he says that he prefers Tsvangirai to take over the presidency as no other Zanuist can save Zimbabwe. I know the hardliners want the status quo to continue but Mugabe also wants a future for his kids and his wife (in case she lives longer). Mugabe knows that only Tsvangirai can save Zimbabwe."
Morgan Tsvangirai's popularity is gathering momentum and at the moment it stands beyond 87%. The recent endorsement by Mugabe catapults the ratings further. Even during the GNU era, Mugabe was clear that he is simply being forced to continue.
According to a respected political analyst, Webster Matutu of Port Elizabeth, very soon Tsvangirai will take over and reposition Zimbabwe into the international community. In concurrence, veteran politician Tangai Marufu who survived multiple assassination plots and kidnappings at the instigation of the nonagenarian Mugabe, "Finally Mugabe is going. The politburo minutes leak is a clear sign that even those close to him want to see his back sooner than later."
