ZIM-ID fully conscious of a political independence of 35 years

As a people of Zimbabwe we are to remember 35years of living in an African state that gained sovereignty by blood, tears and sweat of its liberators, of whom some are swallowed today by death in the name of the struggle whilst others still wallow in poverty to this day. It must not be so strange if we have learnt the right lessons, that our shared experiences in this timeline are mainly conversations dominated about having had to endure unimaginable suffering and socio-economic hardships for many years.
We can't even afford to break a toast, for the mood is of mourning than celebrating. As if colonialism was not enough, we woke up to a bigger lie disguised as black majority rule which in its nature was the opposite of its entirety. Today, as we reflect on our gains that never took us to the Promised Land, we demand answers as a majority black people to various unexplained painful encounters only to keep getting the same rhetorical and uninspiring response of "rambai makashinga".
Our economy has slumped to a number of zeros either inflationary or otherwise, which is primarily due to recipes of disaster that led to massive brain drain, massive natural resource squandering, corruption and gross violation of basic human rights. Looking back, we see a nation that planted, watered with tears and waited for miracles which evidently did not perform themselves.
Most of our undoubtedly patrotic people did seek refuge in neighbouring countries and overseas in order to preserve or better their livelihoods. We have woken up on numerous times to an extremely sad reality that we are unwanted or have overstayed our welcome in such countries. Again, the rhetoric remains "rambai makashinga" even under violent xenophobic attacks and systemic exploitation because all they need from us as the incumbent government in our country are diaspora remittances and tax revenues into the fiscus.
However, we salute the flag bearers of the revolution who played a pivotal role from the grassroots levels where the real war took place, the selfless comrades who went into the frontlines of the battlefield, and the relevant leadership which was present at the time. The clarion call now is that we must take this fullness of time to think back and consider the plight of the general populace that remains poor to date. The real truth is that most of us as Zimbabweans are so lost and unable to fully understand as to what we are celebrating, and to what end can we continue in this manner.
We take this opportunity as ZIM-ID to state categorically that our position remains vividly clear. It is a vision to see our beloved Zimbabwe back on its feet and become such a stable economic giant than she ever reached, having been rebranded to suit her people's needs. We thank you all.
