Tsvangirai admits he is clueless

This writer is one of the people who thought the level of education does not matter much in political leadership. The belief was wisdom is all that one needs to acquit themselves well in a political office.
The writer would vociferously and vehemently defend Mr Tsvangirai whenever he was under attack over his limited educational qualification. Mr Tsvangirai has betrayed yours truly this time around.
His address to the University of Zimbabwe students on Tuesday proved the writer wrong. His statements exposed him for what he is and has proved beyond doubt that a stint at a higher learning institution is necessary for a political leader especially a presidential hopeful.
The MDC-T leader attempted to cajole students to join the futile demonstrations staged by his party on Thursday. In his attempt to do so, he backfired and exposed himself big time. He incited students to demand their rights by way of making tertiary institutions ungovernable. All that he said bordered on incitement of violence, the language that his party understands best.
It does not add up for someone who dreams of landing the number one job in the country, to incite students to destroy learning institutions. Student demonstrations as many understand them, destroys a lot of property. One may bring to mind the times of student activism when the likes of Job 'Wiwa' Sakhala, Learnmore Majongwe, Tafadzwa Musekiwa and many others, orchestrated demonstrations. It was a horrible experience that no sane person would want to witness that again today. The Sikhalas would destroy university properties and even urinate into cooking utensils. Some of these old students carried forward that unruly culture into the MDC. This is the reason why that party is now synonymous with violent demonstrations.
This is the same vicious behaviour that Tsvangirai was inciting students to engage in. Parents struggle to send their children to universities with a view to building their future and someone who never set foot on same attempts to put paid to that vision. It might sound exaggerated but the truth is Mr Tsvangirai only set his foot at the university just to either canvass for votes or incite violence like what he did on Tuesday. If he had gone through university education, the MDC-T leader would have appreciated the ramifications of the actions he was inciting students to take.
He deliberately forgot to tell the students that the sanctions he personally called for, are chiefly accountable for the misery they (students) were going through at the universities. Parents who lost their jobs because of sanctions are failing to pay fees for their children's tertiary education. Universities are failing to provide the best of services to students because of the evil sanctions.
The attempt to psyche-up students for the MDC-T demonstrations was also seen in the concoction of statics of students allegedly dropping out of tertiary institutions. The MDC-T aligned student body; Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) produced fictitious figures of drop outs which Tsvangirai also feasted on during his address. A whole leader depending on statics manufactured by children! Mr Tsvangirai can get reliable figures from the universities' administrative authorities not students.
Some of his utterances were self-defeating. He pretended to be sympathetic by saying that it was a shame to hear that students were entrenched in prostitution as way of survival. His party officials are the vultures that are devouring female students at tertiary institutions. It will not surprise that he is also guilty of the same misdemeanor, more so when you look at the girls that he has been dating. Even the youthful wife he currently has tells a big story about Mr Tsvangirai.
Students must not be hoodwinked into hooliganism by an individual who does not have any capacity to change their life. Tsvangirai is a clueless who is just good at criticizing the status quo. He even confirmed himself that he is clueless.
"Yes you can say Tsvangirai give us a solution to all these problems. I have no solution. I am not the government," Tsvangirai was quoted by the Dailynews as having said.
If one has no solution to political problems obtaining in the country, then he or she has no business in politics, worse still aspiring for presidency. We know of opposition parties which proffer alternative policies to those they oppose. Tsvangirai only knows the 'Mugabe must go mantra.' The time for armchair criticism is over. People need to know the alternative that you have in stock for them. Why then should people vote for Tsvangirai when he has no solution to the problems existing in the country? When he takes over the reins, the so- called problems will be in existence. Does that mean he will not do anything to eliminate them since he is saying he has no solution?
You must take Tsvangirai's admission of cluelessness seriously. He is being honest here. That is the reason why he has resorted to boycotts and demonstrations. But demonstrations do not solve the so-called crises he always preaches about. In any case, demonstrations and boycotts are a language of a hopeless person. Do we honestly need a hopeless person for a leader?
