Dynamos crowned Zimbabwe soccer champions for the 18th time after pipping FC Platinum on goal difference.
Dynamos won the league championships in '63, '65, '70, '76, '78, '80, '81, '82, '83, '85, '86, '89, '91, '94, '95, '97 and 2007.
For long periods in the game yesterday, Dynamos struggled to find their rhythm, against a team that has cultivated a tradition of being their bogey side, but eventually did just enough to get the result they wanted and win the title by virtue of a superior goal difference.
Yesterday marked the third time that the Glamour Boys have won the league title on goal difference, after similar success stories in 1983, when they ended up tied on points with Rio Tinto, and in 1995 when they ended with the same number of points as Blackpool.
Ironically, DeMbare also lost the league championship race on goal difference last year after ending the season tied on points with Motor Action.
Highlanders finished the log on position number 7 out of sixteen teams.
Dynamos 2 - 0 Kiglon
FC Platinum 3 - 1 Shooting Stars
Shabanie 2 - 0 Highlanders
Blue Ribbon 1 - 0 Chicken Inn
Zim Saints 0 - 0 Caps United
