The Union Zimbabwe Trust is conducting a project called #TBREACH to curb the spread of the disease, and community leaders have taken a stance in the health drive in joining hands with the trust.
The trust has mainly focused on Bulawayo and Midlands having an objective to improve the diagnosis treatment of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB).
Bura Chairperson, Winos Dube has applauded resident leaders for their keenness efforts to promote the quest of keeping TB at low levels in communities or eradicating the deadly disease.
"I will strongly say the residents leaders are doing as expected because they seem to be participating and taking part in all activities that involve promoting welfare like the TB reach project," he said.
"I feel the reach project is vital for the city of Bulawayo because if people adhere to what they are being taught and advised , this will result in keeping TB at lower levels in our communities or totally eradicate it,".
Dube has urged all leaders to participate in such crucial projects so as to promote good health and in turn this result in progress and development in the cities.
"I strongly believe that once we have a community made up of healthy people who are free from diseases we are in a situation to see better development," he said.
The goal of the #TBREACH Project nationwide is to enroll at least 90 percent TB patients on an all oral regimen.
