Shadowy internet pressure group Team Pachedu has threatened to illegally login into the website of Zimbabwean Electoral Commission after claiming that its cyber experts have gotten hold of the electoral body's logins.

Posting on Twitter the organization said:

ZEC knows nothing about IT security. While checking ZEC's new website, our cyber experts found unsecured admin login details.
Admin 1: cganyele
Admin 2: zakiyo
The first one is for ZEC's ICT and Voters Roll Director, Mr. Cephas Ganyele.
Can we login @mangwana_jasper?
@ZECzim

When one user by the moniker @munhumutapa asked why Pachedu had given the electoral body a heads up, the organization said, "We can still have access even if they change the configurations - if we really want to. There is nowhere for them to hide."

Commenting on the post, Political Analyst Nicholas Ncube said, "This is a security threat to the nation. We have a band of marauding internet hackers targeting key instruments of power that the country is founded on, that of a free and fair voting process led by a credible presiding institution.

"If indeed it is true that the organization has threatened to hack the ZEC website, the individuals behind these online terrorist organizations must be traced and nabbed. Such threats must not be taken lightly."
