Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited has announced the departure of its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Kezito Makuni, who will be leaving the company on February 28, 2025, after 16 years of service.
Mr. Makuni, a seasoned telecommunications executive, is exiting the company through a voluntary exit facility to pursue other interests.
A statement from the telecommunications giant confirmed his departure, stating:
"Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited announces the voluntary exit from the business of its Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Kezito Makuni, with effect from 28th February 2025, to pursue other interests outside the company.
"Mr. Makuni, who has been with Econet Wireless Zimbabwe for sixteen years, played a key role in helping the business achieve significant milestones in its growth and digital transformation journey over the years."
During his tenure, Makuni contributed significantly to Econet's expansion and innovation, overseeing key projects that have enhanced the company's position as Zimbabwe's leading mobile network operator.
His departure marks the end of an era at Econet, with the company expected to announce succession plans in due course.
