President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged unity, discipline, and tangible results within the ruling Zanu-PF as the party began its annual National People's Conference with a Politburo meeting in Harare on Tuesday.

Addressing senior party officials, President Mnangagwa cautioned against complacency and internal divisions, describing the meeting as "by no means routine" but a strategic platform to strengthen the party's vision for Zimbabwe.

"This meeting must consolidate the aspirations and ideas of our great motherland, Zimbabwe," he said. "Shame, shame, shame on all those denigrating our national interests. We are Zanu-PF - and we will not be deterred."

He instructed Politburo chairs to ensure robust discussions and resolutions that advance national development priorities, emphasizing that the party must remain focused on service delivery and economic transformation.

"We must ensure that the rank and file remain clear regarding all activities and projects implemented by our Zanu-PF-led government to serve the interests of the majority," Mnangagwa said.

The conference, themed "Attainment of Vision 2030 Through Economic Empowerment and Value Addition," is expected to chart Zanu-PF's next phase of policy direction and mobilization toward achieving national prosperity targets.

On Wednesday, President Mnangagwa will chair a Central Committee meeting before travelling to Manicaland Province, where the main conference sessions will take place in Mutare from Friday to Saturday.

During his visit, the President is set to commission key development projects, including the Mega Market Milling Plant, the National Pharmaceutical Warehouse at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital, and to lead a national tree-planting exercise near the new Zanu-PF provincial offices.

President Mnangagwa's message to delegates was clear - Zanu-PF must close ranks, reject division, and deliver on the national goals of Vision 2030.
