President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hailed Zimbabweans for their hard work and unity, crediting these efforts with driving success across all sectors of the economy during his address at the final Cabinet meeting of the year.
Speaking at State House, Mnangagwa noted that reforms implemented by the Second Republic had created a favorable environment for the modernisation and industrialisation of the economy.
"Despite the global shocks experienced during the period of NDS-1, the reforms carried out since the Second Republic have been a resounding success," he said.
"Through the unity and hard work of all our people, we have ushered our nation into a new era of hope, development, modernisation, industrialisation, and improved service delivery. The economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience, bolstered by strong policy coordination and fiscal prudence. It is indeed pleasing that during the year 2025, we continued to witness the strengthening of the macro-economic environment. Our National Gross Domestic Product has firmed, along with the stabilisation of the ZiG currency, among other key economic indicators."
President Mnangagwa also commended Cabinet ministers for their commitment to attending meetings and implementing resolutions throughout the year, noting that their dedication contributed to "invaluable progress" for ordinary citizens.
While acknowledging the ministers' participation, he emphasised that there was still room for improvement, reminding them that Cabinet meetings should take precedence over all other government proceedings. He challenged ministers to reflect on the targets set at the beginning of the year and to carefully analyse all memoranda from their respective ministries before submitting them to Cabinet for consideration.
Mnangagwa concluded by asserting that continued collective efforts by Cabinet ministers will drive sustained progress and remarkable success across all sectors of Zimbabwe's economy.
