Roseanna Hall was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2026 on Saturday night, emerging victorious from a field of 30 contestants during a glittering national finale held in Harare.
The 34-year-old psychology graduate from Shurugwi secured the coveted title after impressing judges throughout the competition, leading a record seven-queen delegation that will represent Zimbabwe on various international pageant platforms.
The event marked a significant milestone for the country's pageantry industry, with winners also selected for Miss World Zimbabwe, Miss Supranational Zimbabwe and four other international competitions, making it the largest delegation ever assembled by Zimbabwe.
The ceremony was hosted by Zozibini Tunzi, the former Miss Universe from South Africa, whose presence added prestige to an event that organisers said was designed to celebrate not only beauty but also leadership, advocacy and personal achievement.
Hall, who has previously held pageant titles, is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. Drawing on her academic background in psychology, she has consistently used her platform to promote conversations around mental wellbeing and emotional health.
Judges highlighted her strong communication skills, confidence and community engagement during the competition's question-and-answer and advocacy segments, factors that ultimately distinguished her from the other finalists.
As the newly crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Hall will represent the country at the 75th edition of the Miss Universe pageant next year, where she will compete against contestants from around the world.
Pageant organisers described the multi-queen format as a progressive approach that creates more opportunities for Zimbabwean women to showcase their talents on international stages.
They said the model reflects a growing emphasis on empowerment, leadership and social impact alongside traditional pageant values.
The event generated considerable attention on social media, where many users praised the scale of the production and the quality of the competition. However, some commentators also raised questions about aspects of the organisation and judging process, reflecting the intense public interest that surrounded the contest.
Hall succeeds outgoing queen Sakhile Dube and has pledged to dedicate her reign to advancing mental health awareness initiatives and youth mentorship programmes across Zimbabwe.
Speaking after her victory, Hall said she hoped to inspire young people to prioritise their mental wellbeing while pursuing their personal and professional ambitions.
Her coronation marks the beginning of a new chapter for Zimbabwe's representation on the international pageant stage, with expectations high that she will continue to champion causes that resonate with communities across the country.
