Mugabe gazettes notice to set election on July 31

The much awaited harmonised elections will be held on July 31 after President Mugabe gazetted the dates in Statutory Instrument 86 of 2013 today.
If a presidential run-off becomes necessary, it would be held on September 11.
President Mugabe also fixed July 28 as the date for the sitting of the Nomination Court to accept candidates for presidential, parliamentary and council elections.
The Nomination Court for presidential candidates would sit at 10 am at the High Court's Court A at Mapondera Building, while the one for legislators would sit in each of the 10 provinces.
Councillors would have to go mainly to their district council offices to file their nominations.
The Provincial Assemblies of Chiefs would meet on July 12 to nominate chiefs who would take up seats in Parliament.
