Matebeleland should not just accept Gukurahundi apologists cheaply

Gukurahundi murderers must never be entertained by Matebeleland survivors lest we are taken for nothing but animals that can be herded into and out of the slaughter house without raising a finger.
We are appalled by the behaviour of one priest from Lupane who accepted a nonsensical apology from one Gukurahundist is reported to have gone to Lupane to apologise and ask for forgiveness for his part in the heinous acts of mass and brutal murder, rape and arson on the people of Matebeleland.
This Holy man of God thought he was doing a godly act by showing the murderer mercy at the expense of more information on the whereabouts of all victims. The constitution of Zimbabwe states it clearly that it is only a court which must have a discretion whether or not to set free or impose a sentence on murderers.
To show the extent at which it disapproves of murder, it even approves of the death sentence. So which section of the constitution allows a priest and villagers to clear someone of such gross criminal cases?
That does not go down well with the rest of us and the entire Matebeleland nationals. We felt let down by this man of God. It is one sign of undermining the rights of the people of Matebeleland who have always wanted to know why were they robbed of their loved ones and when will the perpatrators be brought to Justice.
We urge all Matebeleland chiefs to take up the leading role and attend to anyone who tries his luck on the people for the acceptance of their apology, quiz them to reveal all the sites where and how victims were buried. It is also within the rights of the people of Matebeleland to know who the commanders in their highest levels, behind those massacres were.
It is in the hands of the Chief and all other Matebeleland leader to see to it that Matebeleland does not rest untill the perpetrators in their highet levels are brought to court and all the Gukurahundi victims are given dignified and decent burials. It is high time that the people of Matebeleland show the Zimbabwean government that they are equal to all dirty tricks that it is playing on them.
Why criminalise the talk about Gukurahundi, then let someone parade himself about apologising for partaking in that crime, go free? This clearly shown that the Shona government has a hairy hand behind this notorious act and they are now up to setting themselves completely free from Justice.
The Chief must record also the time of the murders which the killer seeks forgiveness for and the actual manner by which they killed these relatives of ours. It is prudent that once enough evidence has been gathered, that apologist should be taken to the police and reported for mass murder, rape and arson on his own plea.
The law must take its course from now onwards until a proper hearing is completed. The Church Priests have no powers what so ever to forgive people who committed genocide, Never! Theirs is only to pray that the victims do not hide any precious information that will expose all the hidden facts and render the perpetrators liable for prosecution. Being a priest does not mean the men of God are also law unto themselves.
Not reporting a criminal with mass murder is criminal and is chargeable. Matebeleland should know that the Zimbabwean murderers could use this leniency as a scapegoat for not facing criminal trials at the Hague. We urge all our leaders to avoid being caught in these scandalous activities. There is still a lot the nation wants to know from these self confessing murderers.
