When King Mzilikazi left Kwa-Zulu on his way North wondering with few people whom he could trust and some depended on his well-being as he continued to search for a resting place. It was the time of destitute circumstances and desperate measures, and means to establish a kingdom was imminent as Inxwala (First fruits)Celebration ritual was to be held according to tradition. Hence, the elders of Gondwana regiment and the People of Gibexhegu decided to pursue to induct Kulumani (Nkulumane) as the residing leader, without the assurance that King Mzilikazi will eventually return after a long search of the escarpment.
That was the first of hostility and long disagreements, which has continued till to this day, between the Clans led by different Induna's in Matabeleland.
When Indlovu returned from his escapades he unified all the people, regardless of the origin and founded the Nation we now call AbaThwakazi of Zimbabwe. He was able to build a unified Nation that was able to conquer and survive all the terrors of the day that continued to unsettle their well being including attacks from local AmaShona tribes.
King Mzilikazi is a renowned leader who sought to build a strong Nation that could stand all the prevailing winds against them, and he successfully established a prominent Kingdom without discrimination of any tribe. Today we are witnessing a potential crisis that will eventually lead to the death of the pride of the Nation, if we continue with all the strife and shifting patronage which is disturbing the unity of the Ndebele People
It is important at this stage in our lives to set aside our differences and concentrate on the prize, which is to win back our Independence. And we as iSizwe soMThwakazi we will be able to move forward if we set aside our differences and strive to bring the Government of Mugabe to recognise the Ndebele's as a Sovereign State that has the ability to Self-government.
The dream set forth by Joshua Nkomo and our forefathers to move forward and fight to regain our Independence, which is through "unity" and strength drawn from our Leader's. We need unity and clarity to perpetuate the Mandate of the People to be freed from the bondage of discrimination and neglect from socio-economic activities by the Ruling Government.
