Zimbabwe Solidarity Forum to host round table discussion on Zimbabwe

06 Jun 2013 at 08:06hrs | Views
Dear Colleagues
Recent significant events have taken place in Zimbabwe; The Referendum, Adoption of the new Constitution, a Court ruling suggesting that harmonized elections should take place by 31st of July, and the upcoming SADC Heads of State Special Summit on Zimbabwe taking place on the 9th June 2013 in Mozambique. These events and the uncertainty around election dates and the need to develop effective strategies form the basis through which the ZSF has to convene an urgent roundtable discussion.

The ZSF plays and important part in creating a platform for ordinary Zimbabweans to raise their voices in an environment that is democratic and safe. The ZSF would like to continue play this role and mobilise South African Cdes to rally behind all Zimbabweans at this critical time.

You are hereby invited to a Roundtable meeting on Zimbabwe hosted by the Zimbabwe Solidarity Forum in partnership with COSATU for a brief discussion on the current political developments in Zimbabwe, how the ZSF has been engaging on the Zimbabwean issues and identify strategies moving forward. The ZSF appreciates the on-going support from the existing task team members and the broader civil society. We hope to strengthen this team to continue giving strategic direction to the work of ZSF.

Date: Thursday 13th June 2013
Time: 10.30am to 13.00pm
Venue: COSATU House, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
RSVP: sipho@asc.org.za

You attendance and participation is highly appreciated.
Regards
