Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors were on Monday nominated for the Women National Team of the Year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The nomination comes after the Mighty Warriors shocked highly rated Cameroon for a historic qualification for Rio 2016.
This is the first time a Zimbabwean football team has qualified for the Olympics.
Zimbabwe were nominated alongside, Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa.
Meanwhile, Yaya Toure could continue his unprecedented domination of the African Footballer of the Year accolade after being named as one of the three finalists for the 2015 award on Monday.
CAF announced that the Manchester City's midfield powerhouse will go up against Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund and Andre Ayew of Swansea, as he bids to win the prize for a fifth successive year.
Ayew was the leading figure for Ghana in Equatorial Guinea, where they finished runners-up after a penalty shootout, and also shone for Olympique de Marseille in the second half of last season before joining English Premier League side Swansea City.
Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who like Ayew is French-born, was nominated for his goal-scoring exploits in the bundesliga with Dortmund.
