THE ZIMBABWE Stock Exchange Chairperson, Eve Gadzikwa, stepped down from the chairmanship of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange following the completion of her four year tenure on October 9.

Gadzikwa was appointed to the independent interim board under a four year term which expired last week.

Under her watch, Gadzikwa played an overseer role when ZSE was going through a management transition, which saw the exit of Emmanuel Munyukwi and the entry of Alban Chirume.

She also oversaw the demutualisation of the exchange and its automation while there were misgivings over the unfettered power given to the CEO which resulted in some controversial decisions and subsequent actions.

The expiry of the board's tenure paves the way for ZSE shareholders (Government and stockbrokers) to hold its first meeting post demutualisation which will usher in a new board.
