PPC completes cement plant

South Africa's biggest cement maker, PPC says it has started running test runs at its completed $800 million plans to set to be unveiled and commissioned before year end.

PPC Zimbabwe managing director Kelibone Masiyane on Friday said the plant which is expected to add 700 000 tonnes to the company's annual 1.1 million tonnes capacity will strengthen the cement's producer regional exports.

The new plant is almost complete and is located in Harare's Msasa area it anticipated to significantly reduce the company's costs and also trigger a price decrease across the cement sector.
