THE rejuvenated Orchestra Mberikwazvo led by Alick "Chisale" Macheso will next Saturday grace Mutare for an all-night live performance at Pick and Save for the first time this year.
The potential thriller will see local upcoming artistes gracing the event as curtain raisers before the main act, and the show organisers have called upon local artistes across all genres willing to warm the stage to come aboard and register.
Macheso's manager, William Tsandukwa, this week told The Weekender that it was because of a great relationship that the group shared with its Mutare fans that has led them to come to Mutare on a regular basis. Last year, Macheso performed at Pick and Save more than six times.
"We value the special relationship that we have with people in Mutare. This (music) industry is no longer paying as it used to, but our Mutare fans keep us going.
"We feel encouraged. We will be back in Mutare next weekend and we are looking forward to a wonderful moment with our fans there.
"We can't talk about the new album for now, but Macheso is busy in the studio," said Tsandukwa.
Show organisers said it was all systems go. "We will continue to give our patrons nothing but undiluted entertainment. Orderliness and professionalism are what makes us tick and we will make sure patrons enjoy life to the fullest while they date their favourite musicians," said the organisers.
Macheso's heart-pouncing heavy bass guitar, well-choreographed dances and eloquent lyrics has made him one of the best live performers on the land.
Fans have fallen in love with his star-studied entourage that contains artistes with dynamic talents, among them lead dancer Willard "Majuice" Mpochi and former Pengaudzoke backing vocalist, singer, comedian and dancer Wilson Meka.
