High Court judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi on Thursday granted an application by the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) to stop further recalls of party representatives by Sengezo Tshabangu.
Tshabangu, who claims to be the party's interim secretary general has recalled CCC councillors, senators and Members of Parliament triggering by-elections with the first batch to be held on Saturday.
The party had filed a legal interdict in October to block Tshabangu from carrying out more recalls of its elected representatives.
In their application, the CCC asked the High Court to stop Tshabangu from directly or indirectly claiming to represent the party and to stop him from recalling its members who were voted into office.
The Party's legal representative Obey Shava posted on X saying he has been advised that their application, interdicting Tshabangu from affecting further recalls has been granted.
"We thank God that we managed to prevent further recalls. This is not the end of the battle. In the meantime @DubekoSibanda, and all other recalled MPs, continue preparing for the by-elections. Give it your best shot," he said.
