A Bulawayo man pleaded with the court to reduce monthly maintenance for his three children from $90 to $10.
Blessing Pamire dragged his estranged wife Rumbidzai Mutwayo of Entumbane suburb to court saying he could no longer afford to pay $90.
Pamire told magistrate Tinashe Tashaya that his live-in girlfriend was expecting a baby and he was therefore saving money for maternity and other needs.
"Your worship I'm not properly paid as I get my salary after two months. "My pay is only $220. I've debts and rentals to pay. I'm struggling to balance my expenses.
"My wife is also pregnant. She needs money for maternity. I can no longer afford to give them $90. I therefore request downward variation,"
Tashaya told Pamire that his salary had not changed so there was no need to reduce his maintenance contribution.
