It has come to light that there was some mischief and the title of the book was photoshopped. An investigation was done and there is nothing like that in bookshops and schools. We retract the article.
There was an outcry over a Grade 1 Ndebele textbook, which some speakers of the language are calling for its withdrawal from the schools curriculum due to some spelling mistakes.
Glaring mistakes such as on the title of the book have apparently been ignored by the Harare authorities. The title of the book is spelt incorrectly as Dhlwe instead of Dlwe without the 'h'.
The book was purported to be titled 'Sekuthe Dhlwe, Ugwalo 1', and jointly written by Shona authors Kadzirange R, Kamudyariwa M, Mapengo K and Chikware J.
