Zimbabwe Electoral Commission completes drafting election manuals

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says it has completed drafting the election manual that will guide the conducting of free and fair elections.

ZEC Commissioner, Ms Fadzai Nhandara said the manual which is expected to be operational by June this year seeks to promote non-partisan information to the electorate and respect of individual rights in line with the laws that govern the country.

She said the manual which will be out next month addresses issues such as why people should vote, voter registration, achieving free and fair elections, the election system, the actual voting process and the role of the people in the electoral system.

Ms Nhandara lamented the slow disbursement of funds by treasury which she said has impacted on voter registration and education.
