Bosso hunt for gunman

HIGHLANDERS head coach Mandla Mpofu says his side needs an experienced striker if it is to turn its fortunes around.
Bosso lack fire power and have not scored in all their three Castle Lager Premier Soccer League games this season.
The team is one of the bottom three on the league standings.
In the six Chibuku Super Cup matches they played, Highlanders only managed to score four goals, three from the strikers and a penalty converted by goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda when Bosso edged City 1-0.
Striker Washington Navaya was on target in Highlanders' opening match of the tournament when they beat Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0.
When matches resumed after a long Covid-19 induced break, striker Lynoth Chikuhwa scored in Highlanders' identical 1-1 draws against Chiefs and Chicken Inn.
Mpofu is convinced that he will solve the team's poor scoring in the January transfer window when he gets a striker.
According to their sponsorship deal with Sakunda Holdings, Bosso are set to receive US$60 000 each year for signing-on fees which would enable the club to beef up the team.
Mpofu says big changes are needed in his strike force if they are to be competitive in the league.
"Everyone is worried, especially if you go for three games without winning. Not only that, but scoring as well. In terms of how we played our last game, I felt we were just unlucky. January is around the corner. We will have a striker, an experienced one.
"We can cry about the strikers we have today but these guys are young and the burden is too big for them.
Highlanders is a big club. We need someone who will come and relieve pressure from the guys. Come January we will have a striker, if not two. I believe that is the only solution to our problems," said Mpofu.
Bosso have endured a hugely disappointing start to the season, collecting just one point from a possible nine so far.
In their opening encounter, Bosso lost 2-0 to Black Rhinos before a nil-all home draw against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Barbourfields Stadium in their second encounter.
